Praise be to God, who has singled out this Muhammadan nation with a series of descending and ascending chains of transmission... And after that, he says, “A poor man whose mercy is on his Lord, and a prisoner with the stain of his sin, Abdullah.” Ibn Salem Ibn Muhammad Ibn Salem Ibn Issa Al-Basri..., Colophon: The transcription of this auspicious record, which is blessed with happiness and complete conquests, God willing, has been completed, coupled with the fifteenth of the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1286, two hundred and one thousand eighty-six of the hijra of the owner of glory and honor, at the hands of its poor writer, who confessed to sin and negligence, hoping for the pardon of his Lord, the All-Knowing King Muhammad Abd al-Salam, may God forgive him.
