Treatise on Ḥanafī uṣūl al-fiqh. | Ms. codex., Title from note on fol. 1a in the same hand as the ownership statement signed by Aḥmad Nūrī., 17 lines per page. Written in small medium naskh in black ink with use of red. Light cream paper with laid lines visible. Fol. 1 consists of a later addition pasted on the recto of the first original fol. Marginal and interlinear annotations and commentary, apparently by the same hand as the main text. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: “Uṣūl thānī 34”. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 77"., Copy completed on a Wednesday of Jumādá al-Ākhir 768, by ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz ibn ʻAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Marghānī, Incipit: Praise be to God, the Creator of the breeze and the Sustainer of the oath, the Creator of creations. And Sharia Street... Sheikh Imam said... Ali bin Muhammad Al-Bazdawi... Knowledge is of two types: the science of monotheism and attributes, and the science of jurisprudence and laws, Explicit: This is like taking what is forbidden in ihram out of necessity with what is forbidden in that it permits him and guarantees the penalty, so it is the same here, and God knows best what is right | Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap.
