Notes Commentary on al-Mughnī fī uṣūl al-fiqh by al-Khabbāzī (d. 691/1292). | Ms. codex., Title from inscription on fol. 1a., Physical description: 29 lines per page. Written in small casual naskh in black ink. Marginal annotations in the same hand as the main text. Thick eam paper, glossy, hardly translucid, with laid and chain lines visible. Inscriptions on the pastedown of the upper cover and on the first two leaves, including ownership statements. Title on tail of text block. Foliation in pencil using Western numerals (omits first fol.)., Collection: Paper, fol. 163; 1-15¹⁰ 16¹² (+1 end of quire) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf., Origin: According to colophon, copy completed at the end (“salkh”) of Ramaḍān 876 [March 1472] (fol. 160b)., Incipit: Praise be to God who has revealed to some of His sincere and sincere servants the hidden polytheism of polytheism with His All-Wide, All-Knowing Name and has beautified their outward and inward parts with Quranic mystical manifestations... The chapter on the matter is presented. Sheikh, may God have mercy on him, the chapter on commands and prohibitions. It is necessary to take care of them in all other chapters because they are the focus of the obligation. Explicit: He made them a metaphor for them, rather than making them a metaphor for other things. And God knows best. Praise be to God first and last, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions, outwardly and inwardly. Brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap. The lower cover has a central blind-tooled mandorla filled with impressions of a small flower stamp and a large outer border consisting of fillets and running patterns. Apparently originally gold-tooled. Partially covered by repair. | Ownership statement in the name of ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʻUthmān ibn Muṣṭafá and of ʻAlī al-ʻĀkif (the latter with stamp) on fol. 1a.
