Notes Dark brown Oriental leather binding with fore-edge flap and envelope flap; central ornament of the covers and the envelope flap: mandorla with lobed perimeter, an infill of floral scrolls and a small flower stamp on its four sides; doublures of the covers and the envelope flap made of paper, doublure of the for-edge flap made of leather — red text area frame ff. 1b-2a: double red page and text area frame — black, red — Arabic script → Nastaʽlīq — paper — Anonymous commentary on the qasida Tabāruk dhū al-ʿalī wa-al-kibriyā' which was composed by the fourth Shiite imam, Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn Jamāl al-Dīn Abū ʿAbd Allāh (Abū Bakr) ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib al-Sajjād (d. 94/712 or 95/713; EI2 XI/481-483; GAL S I/76). The commentary for the individual verses disintegrates into a grammatical and content-based analysis, which is set apart in each case in red by the term al-iʿrāb or al-maʿná.
Sample Text f. 1a: Praise be to God, who is worthy of praise, and may blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad, the Bringer of Warner, and upon his family and companions. Those who support each other in religion, Sheikh Imam said... The beauty of human beings and religion is the famous master Bazain Al-Abidin Ibn Hussein Ibn Ali Ibn Abi Talib... In the rhyme of the Alif, Blessed is He who is Most High and Pride - f. 116b: God Almighty said: Good deeds remove bad deeds. Rather, He replaces his bad deeds with good deeds, as God Almighty said. In another verse, God will replace their bad deeds with good deeds. Praise be to God for the completion and upon His Messenger Muhammad, the best of blessings. May peace be upon his honorable God and his great companions
