:f. 1b The Book of Purity agreed that the four duties of ablution are: washing the face and hands up to the raised ends, and wiping them.
The head and the washing of the feet up to the ankles. They differed as to what was added to this, so Abu Hanifa said it was Sunnah or recommended.
Only the four are obligatory. Al-Shafi’i and Ahmad said, “Intention and arrangement are obligatory,” and Malik said, “Intention and loyalty.”
