Dark brown Oriental leather binding; spine and edges of the covers have been renewed
in light brown leather; central ornament of the covers: a large circle in the middle,
a smaller circle above and likewise below the larger circle, the filling of the circle
is comprised of an interlace pattern, the circles are encircled by a band of stamps
in the shape of the letter s and a band of cross-shaped stamps; doublures made of
paper — black, red — Arabic script → Naskh — paper — Commentary on the Shāfiʿiti legal compendium al-Ḥāwī al-ṣaġīr fī al-fatāwī by Najm
al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Ghaffār ibn ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Qazwīnī (d. 665/1266; EI2 IV/864; GAL
I/394 S I/679; Kaḥḥālah V/267-268 Ziriklī IV/31). The primary work opens with the
expression qawluhu, the commentary opens with ay.
