Notes
Accented in the manner of Atharvaveda; the svarita always next to the relevant place,
but here not with dots, but with lines. — paper — Kāṇḍa XX "Śastrakāṇḍa" of the Atharvavedasaṃhitā, in the Padapāṭha; Part of the fourth and
latest collection of the four Vedas, which contains magical formulas. Weber points out that the assumption that the Atharvaveda is also about
Weapons knowledge, goes back to the misunderstood name Śastrakāṇḍa. The text contains 143 sūkta in more than 10 anuvāka (I concludes 5b, II 12b, III 14b,
V 19a, VI 25a, VII 28a, VIII 34a, IX 38b, X 44a; the conclusion of the fourth and the last
anuvāka are not specified).
