Notes
Jayasiṃhakalpadruma, a festival calendar written in 1714 by Ratnākara, son
of Devabhaṭṭa, under King Jayasiṃha, the founder of Jaipur in Rājputāna (1728). The work consists of 18 chapters (Stabaka). The works used by the author
are: Hemādris Caturvargacintāmaṇi, Madanapālas Madanaratna, Sāyaṇas Kālanirṇaya,
Allāḍanātha's Nirṇayāmṛta, Kamalākara's Nirṇayasindhu. He has other writings
Almost without exception taken from its predecessors. Nevertheless, he deserves praise
that it surpasses in thoroughness the works written in the 18th century with similar themes
(e.g. Catal. Oxon. Num. 665-667, Lālmitras Notices Num. 1705). The manuscript contains only the first 12 Stabaka. Breaks off at the beginning of the 13th Stabaka. According to Aufrecht, “good writing from around 1800”.
