Notes A very detailed account of the court proceedings including the divine judgments of Ṭoḍaramalla, the famous Indian minister of Emperor Akbar, part of the extensive encyclopedia Ṭoḍarānanda named after him. See W. No. 495. The Ms. is a transcript of Report No. 366 from 1875-76 in Puna. See catalog for list the chapter. The original, purchased in Delhi, is written saṃvat 1638, f. 2, 3 missing in it. In addition to many otherwise unknown Smṛti texts, the following are quoted: Kalpataru, Pārijāta (often), Bhavadeva, Mitākṣarā (often), Harihara, Halāyudha and others. Some of those quoted Smṛti texts are printed from the original manuscript and translated into SBE. XXXIII, Minor Law Books. The oldest quote I know of from this part of Ṭoḍarānanda can be found in Nīlakaṇṭha's Vyavahāramayūkha p. 13 (ed. Mandlik), which according to IO. No. 1439 approx. Written in 1640 AD.
