Notes The separation of forces in the Netherlands was declared by a law arising from the 1798 revolution. However, since 1814, our legal system has not implemented all the consequences of this distinction. The rules imposed by Dutch law are as follows: a) Legislative power is exercised jointly by the government (the King and his ministers) and eta jenero (etats generaux).
