Notes	The well-known Eğinabat Subdistrict of the former Aydın Sanjak is today named Germencik Subdistrict of the Aydın Province. The word Germencik means "little winter" with a descriptive particle added to the name Germen. This is the winter quarters of people who come from Bursa, Balıkesir and Afyon to graze their flocks every year. In the past, this quality used to make itself felt more. Now, in the Aegean region, the name Germencik is so common and famous that watermelon and figs are immediately popular. As the land used for wintering is increasingly allocated to agriculture and gardening, the meaning of the word Germencik is forgotten today, and this name now reminds of an economic center, an important fig field, melon and watermelon gardens.
