Notes	The Child Protection Agency building and Kira Apartment on Anafartalar Street can be seen on the postcard. The words "Ankara: Ziraat Bank General Directorate" and "Foto Celal" are read at the bottom of the postcard. The note on the back of the postcard reads: "There was a Ziraat Bank in the big old building. This is the Himayeyi Etfal Buildings."" ANAFARTALAR STREET When Karaoğlan Street, Tahtakale Bazaar and Balıkpazarı Street changed to Anafartalar Street, it widened and lengthened and became the most important street of the modern city. The first modern urbanization and reinforced concrete structures were built on Anafartalar Street and the surrounding streets. For the first time, multi-storey apartment and residential buildings were built in this region. The Şehremaneti (Municipality) building was also located here. There were many public buildings in the further parts of the street. Ankara Courthouse, Child Protection Agency building and Kira Apartment, Gazi and Latif Schools are a few of them. The street starts from Ulus Square and ends at Samanpazarı. The rental apartment building, built on Anafartalar Street, next to the central building of the Institution, in order to generate income for the institution, is in the style of the same period in terms of mass and façade, and dates back to II. It reminds me of Vakıf Apartment. The building, built between 1925 and 1928, is a work of the First National Architecture period and its architect is A. H. Koyunoğlu. CHILD PROTECTION INSTITUTION It was built as a two-storey building by Architect A. H. Koyunoğlu in 1926 for the Child Protection Institution, which was established by Atatürk to protect and care for orphaned children on Anafartalar Street. The building is one of the structures of the First National Architecture Period. Today, it is used as the General Directorate of the Child Protection Agency. EVKAF (II.VAKIF) APARTMENT The apartment building was built by Architect A. Kemalettin Bey between 1928 and 1930 by the General Directorate of Foundations in order to generate income through rent. It has six floors on the ground where the shops are located. Its most important feature is that there is a theater and shops on the first floor. The hall was put into service as a Small Theater in 1947. Today, the building serves as the General Directorate of State Theatres, Small Theater and Chamber Theatre.
