| Notes | The Mamluk-Aleppine Emir Fa¿r ad-Din Abu ¿Amr ¿U¿man b. Uġulbak was the most powerful and influential member of his family. At that time, he shaped his birthplace, Aleppo, through his social and religious commitment. The buildings built by him and his daughter Sitt 'alab enrich Aleppo to this day. He demonstrated strength towards the Mamluk sultans in Cairo and was not always loyal. Two sources provide a lot of information about him: the first is his biography, the second is the court register "Gami¿al-mustanadat". This register contains copies of documents, most of which are attributed to it. This book contains the second part of this court register, consisting of five sales contracts and a waqf document, which is exceptional in its scope. |
