The General Assembly of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group was opened at 15:00 on Tuesday, June 10, 1958, under the chairmanship of Group Chairman Haluk Şaman; It continued under the leadership of Haluk Şaman and Himmet Ölçmen.
1- Last meeting minutes read after attendance
It was approved.
II- Many deputies spoke about the first item of the agenda, "the recent speech of C.H.P. Chairman İsmet İnönü in Istanbul and the attitude of the People's Party". The proposal given on this issue was accepted by a large majority.
III- Many orators took the floor and explained their views on the second item of the agenda, "Explanation of the reasons for the additions made to some articles". Deputy Minister of Industry Sıtkı Yırcalı and Prime Minister Adnan Menderes made detailed explanations. In this regard, the decision given by Istanbul Deputy Selim Erengil regarding not increasing sugar prices under any circumstances was accepted and the session was adjourned.
Considering the importance of the issue and the current situation it presented, the session continued at 22:00.
Various orators expressed their opinions. Since there was no one else to speak on this issue, the session was ended at 15:00 on Thursday, June 12, 1958, to continue the proceedings.
