Notes Summary of minutes from the last session: The General Assembly of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group met on Tuesday, May 3, 1955, at 15:00, under the chairmanship of Hulusi Köymen. As a result of the poll, it was understood that there was a majority, so the session was opened. 1- The minutes of the last session were read. 2- The letter dated 2/5/1955 and numbered 1381/4875, sent from the Presidium Council to make candidate selection to the Advisory Assembly of the Council of Europe, was read. Thereupon, following the speeches of Bursa MPs Agah Erozan, Bahadır Dülger, Burhanettin Onat and Tevfik İleri, Bahadır Dülger's written proposal on how the election should be held was submitted for vote. In this proposal, it was decided that a commission consisting of one member from each of the Presidium Council, the Group Board of Directors and the Group Specialized Committees would determine the minimum conditions required for the candidates to participate in the Council elections in order to make the election at the first level and present the result to the General Assembly of the Group and to present it to the General Assembly of the Group by selecting twice as many candidates according to these conditions. 3- Subsequently, Şefik Bakay's memorandum stating that the bill on postponing the municipal elections should be included in our Group's agenda and discussed first was read, and the vote was invited. After it was reported by the Presidency that the votes were in the direction of rejecting the amendment, an amendment of the same nature given by Talat Vasfi Öz for the second time was put to the vote, accepted and the discussion started. Various orators took the floor. As a result, it was decided to proceed to the 2nd article of the draft in order to continue the discussion of this issue at the next meeting. Eskişehir deputy Abidin Potuoğlu's statement containing the reasons for postponing the elections for vacant seats to 1956 was read. After various orators spoke on this issue, it was put to vote and it was determined that it was accepted by the majority. Due to the lateness of the time, the meeting was finalized to be held on Tuesday, May 10, at 15:00.
