The General Assembly of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group met on Thursday, January 8, 1959, at 15:00, under the chairmanship of the Group Deputy, Denizli Deputy Baha Akşit.
A roll call was made; As it was seen that the majority was present, the session was opened.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Some deputies who took the floor outside the agenda argued that the Parliamentary Pride stance should not be extended to every incident and that it should be limited to major incidents and
They made some wishes regarding the need for the members of the group to continue serving in the Councils and the General Assembly.
Then the questions started:
The oral question from the Finance Trade and Customs - Monopoly Deputies was read about the first article, which was reported by Çorum Deputy Hüseyin Ortakçıoğlu and Yenigün newspaper, about the free car importation belonging to Mükerrem Sarol and Yenisabah Newspaper owner Safa Kılıçlıoğlu being given 6000 Dollars for the car import. • Finance Deputy Hasan Polatkan, Trade Deputy Hayrettin Erkmen and Customs-Tekel Deputy Hadi Hüsman gave the necessary explanations.
Prime Minister Adnan Menderes gave a detailed and satisfactory explanation on this issue. Following this, some deputies took the floor and expressed their ideas and opinions on this issue and made some wishes.
