Former shelfmark: X893.7 K84 I148. Shelfmark: MS Or 262. Origin: The item is undated, but probably from the 14th or 15th century based on the style. Decoration: Dual-page illuminated first opening in gold with blue (f. 1r-2v); sūrah headings in gold ink lined in black; teardrop, circular, and pointed oval marginal medallions in gold and blue with blue finials; verse endings marked by gold rosettes with blue and orange or red dots; readings in red. Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed and vocalized; headings in thuluth in gold. Layout: Written in 13 long lines. Title supplied by cataloger. Manuscript codex. David Eugene Smith collection.. Complete copy of the Qurʼān; pages have been trimmed and remounted; some marginal medallions are cut off as is text on a few leaves.
