In oriental binding; inserted: copies of letters from Dr. A. Cowley, and J.H. Bill, through whom the ms. was acquired from Persia (cf. Osler 346). Arranged alphabetically: vol. I (A-K) only; with about 367 coloured drawings of plants and 6 of animals. Folios 1-9 supplied in 19th century. Contains part one only. (letter alif through kaf in the Maghribi abjad). Marginal notes and corrections. 23 lines per page, catch words, rubricated. 284 folios, thick, wove Oriental paper, elegant, old Iraqi hand. Title from Bibliotheca Osleriana. Manuscript. Also available on microfilm (Osler Microforms, Micro film 6, 11, 113). Was purchased from a Persian dealer in 1912..
