First bāb contains an alphabetical list of principal animals with concise descriptions of their properties and habits. A short treatise on hunting from the religious point of view and the lawfulness of animals for consumption. Text is divided into three chapters (faṣl), last chapter includes a list of animals, birds and insects. 11 lines per page, Indian nasta'līq, catch words. Title and copy date from the colophon.
