Notes	Siyâhî-zâde Alî b., pseudonymous Tab'î. An Arabic work by Sheikh Mehmed Efendi (b. ?/? - d. 1199-1204/1785 -1789) explaining the concept of "preface". The work was written in Arabic to comment and explain the concept of "mukaddime", which is the name of the section in the introduction of books in the Islamic copyright tradition. Although the work registered in the Süleymaniye Library Esad Efendi number 3062/1 is incorrectly attributed to Sipâhî-zâde, the author clearly states his name in both the introduction and the zahriye. The work was written in Arabic to annotate and explain the word "muqaddimah" in the introduction parts of the books and was completed in 1187/1773. For the author's biography, see.
