Notes	Taşköprî-zâde Ahmed Efendi's work in the forty hadith genre. The author of this work, whose language is Arabic, is Hz. He included forty hadith narrations about the Prophet's jokes. After presenting the hadith texts he included in his work with their commentaries, Taşköprî-zâde mentioned various provisions of the Islamic religion regarding the jokes, and concluded his work with a memorandum containing the words of the companions, the tabi'in and the followers of the Prophet on this issue. The hadith narrations included in the work were taken from many sources. The main sources of these sources are Beyhakî's (d. 448/1066) works called Delâilü'n-Nübüvve, Gazâlî's (d. 505/1111) named İhyâu Ulûmi'd-Dîn and Beğavî's (d. 516/1122) works called Şerhu's-Sünne (Yaren 2019: 34-35). The jokes in the hadith texts are generally related to Hz. It is about the Prophet's wives, grandson and companions. However, in the face of some news conveyed to him, Hz. Narrations about the events in which the Prophet smiled are also included (Yaren 2019: 39). The other three copies of the work, two copies of which are mentioned in Sadık Cihan's article about this work (Cihan: 1980), were identified by Ayşenur Yaren in her master's thesis study on the investigation, transcription and evaluation of this work (2019).
