Notes	Taşköprülüzâde's Hz. His work on the legends of the Prophet, his companions and followers, and scholars of religion, law, theology, medicine, astronomy, and philosophers. The manuscript was completed in Skopje (Baş 2005:107). Taşköprülüzâde gave information about the content, method and sources of his work in the introduction part. The author, who based the reason for writing the work on his interest in reading the life stories of exemplary figures since his childhood, wanted to leave a work for history enthusiasts, containing the biographies of distinguished people, free of unnecessary information and stories. Nevâdirü'l-Ahbar fî Menâkibi'l-Ahyâr is the author's first attempt in this style. The 391-leaf work includes the biographies of 1396 companions, saints, ascetics, jurists, philosophers and astrologers. The author has arranged his work alphabetically, not according to years, for the convenience of those who want to benefit from it. In this work, which is mostly a compilation, it is difficult to determine his proficiency and originality in using the Arabic language. Because he conveyed most of the information by shortening the statements of the authors he quoted (Baş 2005:108). The language of the work is simple and fluent. The people whose biographies are given, regardless of their professional group, their birth and death dates, where they were born, where they lived and where they died, their education life, which state they were in, their duties, their travels, their personal characteristics, etc. Matters such as (Baş 2005:109) are given adhering to the writing features in the tabâkât books. While writing this information, Taşköprülüzâde used the books of interpretation and tabâkât written before him as his source.
