In this work, Ali Suavi briefly focused on the rebellion in Montenegro and the reasons for this rebellion, and tried to show how Western states acted in this process. In the first part of A Propos de L'Herzégovine: Montenegro, which consists of two parts, Ali Suavi begins his work by giving information about Montenegro. Here, the author primarily focused on Montenegro's location, history, geography, conquest by the Ottoman Empire and the style of government applied here. In the second part of the work, the Montenegro Rebellion, the preparation process of the rebellion and who carried out the rebellion were tried to be explained. Ali Suavi, who followed the developments regarding Montenegro very closely, also examined the pamphlets and newspapers published in Europe on this subject in detail. Stating that Western powers worked against the Ottomans throughout the rebellion, Ali Suavi stated that Russia and Austria-Hungary constantly provoked Montenegro, while France acted bilaterally. The author has presented the documents and correspondence published in various newspapers and books about the rebellion to the reader by adding them to the end of his book.
