Notes .A late-16th century copy of a collection of edifying stories in poetry and prose by a poet named Mecīdī. On the title page (60a) it is said that the work was written in imitation of the famous Gulistān of Shaykh Sa‘dī (d. 691/1292): 'Kitāb-i Gülzār der naẓīre-i gülistān-i şükūfe-zār’āb-i Gülzār der naẓīre-i gülistān-i şükūfe-zār' The original work was completed in 969/1561-2 (65b:19; 89a:5). The copy was completed in one of the Eight Colleges (Ṣaḥn-i S̲emān) of Istanbul in the forenoon of a Wednesday at the end of Rebī‘ü l-āḫir 1005 (13 or 20 December 1596) Title from: http://www.primarysourcesonline.nl/c60/do_search.php (viewed on november 1, 2012).
