Origin: Lacks dated colophon ; probably copied in Egypt in the late 1930s and bound for James Heyworth-Dunne (b.1974).
Accompanying materials: Tipped in at opening (paginated pp.1-32), half-sheets carrying "The Sixth Part of the Saud Study Mixing Man's Mirror Between the Reasonable and the Observed Key Explanation of the Absence of the Whole and the Existence"

Binding: Boards covered in dark green cloth with dark green leather over spine (quarter binding) ; pastedowns and flyleaves in wove paper printed with a floral vegetal pattern in green ; gold-stamped spine with title and decorative accents over raised bands "Saudi Studies | J.H.D." ; sewing difficult to examine ; stuck-on endbands (blue and white stripe); overall in fairly good condition.
Support: Woven paper, at least two different types.
Script: Ruqʻah ; quick, compact, modern hand in a medium to bold line ; serifless and freely ligatured with mainly closed counters, slight effect of inclination to the right, pointing somewhat carelessly and in strokes rather than distinct dots ; occasionally changes ink (back and forth between black and now grey-blue) and line thickness (see p.123, etc.).
Layout: Written in roughly 16-24 lines per page ; not frame-ruled with lines sloping up.
Collation: Pages between sections left blank or partially blank (to serve as 'title pages,' see pp.33, 72-73, 112-113) ; opening leaves (pp.1-32) on tipped in half-sheets ; pagination in black ink, Hindu-Arabic numerals (see pp.34-57) ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization.
Explicit: "Whoever speaks of it in this chapter, Allah speaks the truth and guides him, if he wishes to a straight path.
Incipit: "وبه كان ما كان وبه يكون ما يكون the fourteenth original in the appointment of the image of the throne after the appointment of the image of the throne Al-Sari in the ranks.
