Notes	About: A treatise on the use of the sine quadrant; another text called fāydah fī maʻrifat al-shams appended after colophon, only first 2 pp. of this text survive. \| Text rubricated; marginal corrections in hand of copyist; copy defective, only muqaddimah, first 4 bābs, and colophon remain. Date of 1457 given in colophon probably date of exemplar: tammat al-risālah ... fī al-yawm al-khāmis ʻashar fī shahr Jumādī al-awwal fī shuhūr sanat iḥdī wa-sittīn thamānimiyah. On p. [1] is note: bi-khaṭṭ muʼallifihā al-ʻallāmah Muḥammad al-Tīzīnī al-Ḥalabī. Seemingly high acid content of paper, very brown and slightly brittle, suggests late 19th-cent. date. Purchased in Cairo, 1933/34.
