Ms. 373 Origin: As appears in colophon on p.247, copied by ʻAbd al-Ghanī ibn Khaḍir [Khiḍr] (Abdulganî bin Hazır [Hızır] / عبد الغنى بن خضر) ; date of transcription not specified, though author's dates, decoration, etc. would suggest mide to late 18th century. Former shelfmark: "410 T. De M. [i.e. Tammaro De Marinis]" inscribed in pencil on verso of front flyleaf (p.2) ; "٢٧٧" on tail edge of text block. Binding: Pasteboards faced in dark brown leather with red leather over spine, fore edge flap and edges/turn-ins (leather framed and edged binding) ; Type II binding (with flap) ; board linings in marbled laid paper (in shades of blue, pink, red, yellow, green, bright orange, etc.) ; upper and lower covers carry stamped and gold-painted mandorla (filled with vegetal composition, somewhat similar to Déroche class. OAi2 1) and pendants with gold-painted accents and tooled rosettes, as well as guilloché roll border in gold ; sewn in dark pink thread, two stations ; worked chevron endbands in pink and pale green, fair condition ; overall in fair condition with some abrasion, lifting of leather, etc. Support: non-European (likely Persian) laid paper with 7 laid lines per cm. (horizontal or vertical, curved and somewhat indistinct) and no chain lines visible, cloudy formation, crisp and fairly transluscent though sturdy, quite well-burnished, buff in color ; flyleaves in European laid paper with 9 laid lines per cm. (vertical), chain lines spaced 26-27 mm. apart (horizontal), and large watermark of scrollwork with crown above. Decoration: Elegant illuminated headpiece (ʻunwān / sarlawḥ) at opening on p.8, consisting of rectangular piece with empty gold cartouche flanked by floral motifs in gold with red, white, orange and light blue accents, surmounted by scalloped w-shaped piece filled with swirling vegetal decoration with floral motifs in shades of pink, blue, red and white, on fields of gold and dark blue, all set in an elaborate well consting of bands of blue, pink and gold interlace and surmounted by vertical stalks (tīgh) in blue and red ; written area throughout surrounded by heavy gold frame defined by black fillets with outermost red rule, divisions within defined by narrow gold bands outlined in black fillets ; keywords, section headings, and excerpts (mainly Qurʼānic with vocalization) rubricated ; occasional overlining in red. Script: Naskh ; elegant Ottoman hand ; partially but irregularly seriffed with right-sloping head-serif on occasional lām, effect of tilt to the left, closed and open counters, curvilinear descenders, pointing (for two and three dots) in strokes rather than distinct dots. Layout: Written in 23 lines per page, occasionally divided to two columns ; frame-ruled. Collation: i, I (2), 12 V(122), II (126), i ; almost exclusively quinions ; catchwords present ; foliation in red ink, Hindu-Arabic numerals ; pagination in pencil, Western numerals, supplied during digitization (includes front flyleaf and skips two pages each between pp.101-102 and 159-160). Colophon: "Scribal," triangular, reads "قد وقع الختام عن تنميق هذه النسخة الجليلة المنقولة مصليا على نبيه محمد واله واصحابه الكرام البرره على يد اضعف الفقير عبد الغنى بن خضر غفر الله له وستر عيوبه تمت م" Explicit: "دخى ممنوعلر اولوب حد مقدارلرنجه حركت ايتمليلردر" Incipit: "حمد نامحدود وثناى نامعدود ايكى عالمدن مقصود اول معبود بالحق اولان واجب الوجود در كاهنه اولسونكه دين اسلامى هر حالده عالى ... وبعد بو عبد فقير نا ازاده يعنى محمد سالم ميرزا زاده بى ارتياب هنكام صبا وعالم شبابدن ... وشيرازه بند ختام ايدوب بو مسوده يى نيل الرشاد في امر الجهاد ناميله تسميه ..."
