Notes
Two different manuscripts bound in one volume. Written in 17 lines per page. Taʿlīq script in black ink with captions in red. Brown leather binding. Manuscript 231 can be unique copy. It was created by bringing together and binding two independent manuscripts (Manuscript numbers: MS 231, MS 232). AD 231: The work can be considered a kind of medical encyclopedia in which many information about the period are given systematically and alphabetically: 1a: Short prayers in Persian; 1b-12a: introduction and the atmosphere of some verses. [this section is in Persian]; 12a-25b: some properties and benefits of animals and plants in alphabetical order; 25b-31b: about medical science and the foundations of knowledge. 33a-52b: about pharmaceuticals and paste compositions; 52b-86b: recipes for medicines and ointments, things to eat according to months, recipes for amulets and spells. 86b-106b: special magnet and then again medical information; 106b-113b: heralded words on the subject. 232 AD: The work is the legendary life story of Mahmud Pasha (d. 1474), one of the grand viziers of the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror. After the work ends, between 127a and 140b, there are various pharmaceutical preparations, favayid records, the article "Bâkî" from Hasan Çelebi's Tezkire and a poem by the poet, stone prayer, fatwa samples, various prayers and amulet recipes.
