(226a) In the name of God... The ranks of beings in existence according to the rational division are three, and there is no more. The lowest is that which exists through something else, that is, that which is brought into existence by someone else. (226b) In tangible matters, compare it with their condition in intelligible moral matters. It is clear, as the intuition of reason attests, that the necessary existence of God Almighty must be in the highest levels of existence, and God knows best.
