The work, XVII. It is the famous work on geography of Kâtib Çelebi, one of the important Ottoman scholars of the 19th century. Its most important feature is that it is the first systematic geography book of the Ottoman lands. The work consists of two parts, the first part talks about seas, rivers and islands, the second part talks about lands, cities and countries discovered after the 13th century. The work was attempted to be copyrighted twice. The author started to prepare the first manuscript in 1648, but could not complete it because he could not find resources. Places such as England, the Atlantic Ocean and Iceland are not included in the first copyright. After finding new sources, he started to prepare the second compilation and completed this compilation in the city of Van, which was included in the Ottoman lands. Katib Çelebi was able to publish only the Asian part of his work, which he planned to publish in two volumes: Asia and Europe. The work consists of two parts. The first part is just seas. from rivers and islands, from the lands of the second part, from cities in alphabetical order, Hijri VII. It mentions the countries discovered after the (XIII) century. The book has chapters and an index at the beginning. The work contains many maps and drawings.
