Sample Text (1b), In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And His peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. The Sheikh, the Imam, the scholar, Zain al-Millat al-Din, Qasim bin Qutlubugha al-Hanafi, said, “May God treat him with His hidden kindness.” When I came across the remembrance of our Sheikh, the Imam, the scholar, the leader of historians, and the rest of the knowledgeable memorizers, Shihab al-Din Ahmad bin Ali bin Abdul Qadir al-Maqrizi. May God bless his life and bestow upon us His blessings. I saw in it what he had written of the biographies of the Hanafi imams, so I liked to append to each name what I could from the biographies of those by whom he was called, in a way that was intended for brevity. (68b-69a), the jurist Abu Al-Layth Nasr bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Samarqandi died in Jumada al-Akhira in the year three hundred and seventy-five. The jurist Abu Al-Ala Ahmad bin Katheer, the companion of Abu Bakr Al-Iskaf, died in Muharram in the year three hundred and eighty. The jurist Abu Yusuf, the companion of the jurist Abu Jaafar, died in Rajab in the year three hundred and eighty-one. The jurist Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Al-Fadl, Imam Bukhari, died in the year three hundred and eighty-one. Praise be to God, first and last, outwardly and inwardly, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family.
