Notes
There is an incomplete index in Ib. Surah titles and verses are written in red ink. The last page of the work is missing. This work of Kadı Beyzâvî has been accepted as one of the most important works of the tradition of sagacity exegesis. There were also those who considered this commentary as a version of Zamakhshari's Keşşâf purified from mutazili views. In the work, importance is given to lexical statements, theological issues are touched upon, and differences in recitation are mentioned from time to time. Apart from Zamahseri, Beyzâvî also benefited from the works of scholars such as Râzî and Isfehânî in his commentary. It has been observed that in this commentary, in which the views of the Shafi'i sect are prioritized in the rulings, there are also false narratives of sacrifice and Israelite information, as in Zamakhshari. This commentary of Beyzâvî became the most taught commentary work in Ottoman madrasah education. More than 250 annotations have been made on this work in the Islamic world.
