And after the poor, weak servant said, to the mercy of his gentle Lord, Mustafa bin Shams al-Din al-Qara Hisari, known as al-Akhtari... When I saw the desire of scholars to understand the textual and rational meanings of knowledge of the Arabic languages in abundance and their great need for it, I wanted to collect in these papers Arabic words (710). And the calamity occurred on Thursday night, at bedtime, in the middle of the first two springs of the months of the year nine hundred and fifty-two after the Hijra, at the hands of his university...
