There are various editions of the work. 1a contains work and author information. Titles are written in red ink. The Arabic numbers in the copy are taken as basis. There are comments in 1a and 233b. The work that Shahristani wrote after el-Milel ve'n-Nihal consists of twenty chapters. It is seen that the author, who tried to explain the principles and purposes of the sects and to explain the incomprehensible issues, took the Ashari creed as a basis in his work, but sometimes criticized it, and sometimes went beyond the views of the theologians and included philosophical views. At the end of his work, the author stated that he achieved his aim in revealing the thoughts of theological scholars and that he would later express the views of the philosophers.

(1b) In the name of God... The Sheikh of the Imam said... Praise be to God, the praise of the thankful... As for what follows, he pointed to the one whom He indicated as decisive (233a) Grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Giver. The decree has been fulfilled, thanks to God and His good success.
