The work located in Kutub-i Sitte is a hadith work in which Tirmidhi brings together authentic hadiths with the ale'l-ebvâb method. It consists of 2496 chapters in forty-six chapters, including the word "ilel" at the end. Tirmidhi started with "Kitâbü't-Tahâre", as in other Sunans, and used the word "ebvâb" instead of "kitâb" when naming the chapters. The work contains around 4000 hadiths. Tirmidhi did not always use a single term such as "sahih", "hasan" or "weak" when evaluating the hadiths. He often used terms consisting of two or three words such as "hasen-sahih", "hasen-garîb", "sahih-hasen-garîb", provided that the most distinctive feature of the hadith was shown in the first word. The work is an important source on disputes between fiqh sects.
Sample Text (1b) In the name of God... Chapters on Purity Chapter on what has been mentioned: Prayer is not accepted without purification. Sheikh Abu Al-Fath Abdul Malik bin Abi Al-Qasim bin Abi Sahl Al-Bazzar Al-Harawi told us... on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: Prayer is not accepted without purification, nor is charity accepted from impure things (278a). The entire collection, which is the great collection of Tirmidhi, was completed with the praise and help of God. May God forgive its author. And God is sufficient for us, with the best disposer of affairs, and there is no power or strength except By God, the Most High, the Great, it was completed, thanks to God and His help
