The text, disposed in 15 lines on each page and framed by gold margins, is executed in black naskhi script, with red detailing. The chapter headings are executed in white riqa' script against a solid golden cartouche with blue floral detailing. The verse dividers are rendered as small gold discs. major subdivisions in the text are marked by small red inscriptions or elaborate, colourful medallions in the margins. The last double-page has elaborately coloured and gilt cartouches, the right giving the name of the calligrapher Hashim al-Kashafi, one of the students of Abd al Qader al-Rasmi, in the year 1286 H/ 1865 CE.
