| Notes | The spreadsheets are illuminated, the rulers are in red and black ink and gilt. Nuhudi leather binding with corner cover and sunburst. The name of the owner of this divan is Mehmed Bulak and his pseudonym is Agah. He was born in Samarkand in 1040 (1630-31) and studied literature in Bukhara. He went to Tabriz, Baghdad, Konya, Jerusalem, Mecca, Medina and Egypt and finally settled in Diyarbakır (Kara Amid) and died there in 1141 (1728). A member of the Nalshi sect, he was skilled in the arts of calligraphy, miniature, illumination and teclid. |
