| Notes | In Y.1b and 2a, there is an illuminated zahriye medallion in the shape of an eight star with verses written inside; In Y.2b and 3a, on two very richly and beautifully illuminated plates, Surah Fatiha is written in white on a gold background; In Y.3b and 4a, the beginning of the Surah Al-Baqarah is written in the illuminated manuscript and frame. The heads of the surahs, chapters, factions, etc. are illuminated in the same style. Stops and rulers are gilded. At the end there is the hatim prayer written in gold. Exquisite Iranian binding with gilded sunburst on the inside and outside of the covers, corners and inscribed coffee-colored leather. |
