Abu'l Kasım Hasan or Mansur, who used the pseudonym Firdevsi, was born in 321 or 322 (933 or 934) and lived in the vicinity of Tus, completed Shah-nama in 400 (1009-1010) and died in 411 (1020); The dates given for his death are 411 (1020), 416 (1025) and 421 (1030). At the beginning of this copy there is a prose introduction of six pages.
