| Notes | Headlines in red. Cherry rotten leather binding with miklep and şemsel. Mehmed Nazmi Edirnevi, the owner of this work, is a poet who is versed in the art of poetry. He was one of the legal clerks during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, and later became a Sipahi. In this magazine, he collected the ghazals of Ottoman poets dating back to 930 (1523-24) and the nazires written by other poets for them. He presented this work to the Sultan and was granted favor. His death is in 955 (1543-44). |
