Notes The serlevha and zahriye are illuminated; The surah heads are gilded and the rulers are red. It has a brown leather binding with embossed sunshades and corners. Ebû's-Su'ûd Muhammed b. Mustafa el-İmâdî was born around Istanbul in 896 (1490) or 898 (1492). After his primary education, he became a professor, rose to be among the greatest scholars of the Ottomans, and became Shaykh al-Islam in 952 (1545). He died in 982 (1573). He completed his commentary in 973. The main sources of his tafsir are the tafsir of Zamahseri and Beyzâvî. This volume contains the commentary of the entire Quran. See Br.
