| Notes | It was made on drawing paper, on a landscape painting, one with charcoal and the other with paint on charcoal. Sultan III. These are Selim's paintings. They are interconnected like pages of a book. Underneath the pictures is written "Constantinople Capou-Daghle sujet ottoman L'année 1208 [i.e. 1793] grave par L. Schiavonetti a Londres". A floral ruler is made with gilded edges on cherry paper with a light blue cloth backing. |
