It is the work of a person named Seyyid Halil Hasib, one of the archers of the reign of Sultan Ahmed I (1012-1026), who collected what he learned from Bahtiyarzade Hasan Çelebi's treatise, Ali's Künbülahbar, Abdullah Efendi's Tezkere-i rumat and what he heard from the elders, and wrote about the history and shooting distances of the famous archers. It is divided into 40 very short chapters. There are later additions at the end of each chapter. The last addition was made in 1204 during the reign of Selim III. |
