This color map, which includes the eastern seaboard of America and the Atlantic Ocean and the western part of Europe and Africa, is likely to be half of a kurrei musattaha (mappamonde). In the city of Gallipoli, Ahmed b., known as Piri Re'is, brother of Kemal Reis. It was copied by Mehmed el-Karamani in 919 (1513) from the map made by Christophe Columbus in 1489 and presented to Selim I in Egypt. Chr. on the left edge of the map. There are explanations about Columbus' discovery of America.
