Praise be to God, who has revealed judgment to the hearts of speech...from the oldest station. As for what follows, I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, on a mission that I showed in the last ten days of Muharram in the year six hundred and twenty-seven, guarded in Damascus, with a book in his hand, and he said to me, “This is the book of the chapters of wisdom. Take it and bring it out to the people.”
