Four texts relating to Qur'an recitation. Other contents: inside front cover, ex-libris of Arch[ibal]d. Swinton Esq.; f. 1r, title romanised: Tujweed ilm Qooran (?); 2v, seal impression Archibald Svīntun Bahādur 1174 [1760-1] and inscription “Resalah Tujveed Keraat Koran”; 3r, Persian inscription giving the title as Risāla-’i Tajvīd dar ‘ilm-i qirā’at, and recording the sale of the manuscript in the regnal year 14, obscured seal impressions. This manuscript is probably of Indian origin. Undated: probably 12th/18th century. Good naskhī. 14 lines. Red headings and overlinings. Text frames: gold and black. Illuminated heading on f. 3r. Thin off-white paper. 195 x 102 mm.; 120 x 52 mm. Good orange-brown morocco covers, with impressed gilt ornamental panels which are worn; spine ornamentation is European style, with lettering ELEM KERAT. Purchased from M T Mohammad, 8 May 2008.
