Notes A treatise on the reading of the Koran according to Abū ʻAmr ibn al-ʻAlaʼ al-Baṣrī, one of the seven early readers of the Koran. | Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 1a)., Marginal notes and glosses. On the title page and on the back of the colophon is a fragment of Tadhhīb al-ummīyah fī tahdhīb al-Shāṭibīyah by Ibrāhīm ibn ʻUmar al-Jaʻbarī which is a metrical commentary on al-Shāṭibīyah by Ibn Fīrruh al-Shāṭibī. Other short inscriptions on the title page include an extract from Ibn al-Jazarī., Collation: Paper ; fol. 50 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 25 lines per page ; frame-ruled in red., Description: Rubricated ; overlining in red ; watermarks (shield with a face-in-the-moon, roman-alphabet letters "AG") ; MS in good condition., Origin: According to colophon copied 10 Shaʻbān 1279 (fol. 50a)., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يقول العبد الفقير الى الله تعالى الشيخ الامام العالم ... سراج الدين ابو الحفص عمر بن ... قاسم ... وبعد فقد سألني جماعة من اصدقائي وفضنى الله واداهم لما يجب ..., Colophon: تم في اليوم العاشر من شعبان الواقع في سنة 1279 تسعة وسبعين و[مائتين] وألف | Unbound. | Acquired from Brill, Leyden, 1900. | Hitti, P.
