Two short poems by al-Shaykh al-Qīrāṭī, a poem addressed to a certain al-Ahdal, two poems by Aḥmad al-Khallī eulogizing the Prophet, nine verses in praise of the family of Muḥammad and an ode by Abū Qāsim al-Nāshirī before the title page (f. 1a-3b). Following the colophon are several odes: one by Imruʼ al-Qays ibn Ḥujr al-Kindī, one by Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Daʻdaʻ al-Saʻdī in praise of Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Wāsiʻ al-Qurashī with a tārīkh for 1208 [1793], another ode eulogizing the same by Muḥsin ibn Muḥammad al-Hannād, a eulogy of the Prophet by ʻAbd al-Qādir, governor of Kawkabān, and an ode dated 1210 [1795] (f. 113a-116b)., Collation: Paper; fol. 116 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals., Layout: 9-22 lines per page., Description: Verse separators and overlining in red ; watermarks (three crescents; roman-alphabet initials "FC" and "BA[?]"; other unidentified) ; MS in good condition., Origin: According to colophon copy completed Sunday 20 [Dhū] al-Qaʻdah 1207 by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn ʻAl[ī] al-Ḥawshī (fol. 112b)., Incipit: بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وبه استعين فمن ذلك ما حدثنا به المفضل بن محمدالضبي باسناد عن عبد الله بن عباس قال قدم نافع بن الازرق ..., Colophon: بعناية سهر المالك صفي الاسلام والدين احمد عبد الواسع القرشي حفظه الله. تمت جمهرة اشعار العرب بحمد الله ومنه وکر[مه] بعد ظهر نهار الاحد عشرين شهر القعدة الحرام سنة 1207 بخط اسير ذنبه ورهين کتبه الفقير اليه تعالى عبد الله بن صلاح بن علي الحوشي وفقه الله تعالى وغفر له ولوالديه ولمالکها ولوالديه امين. وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وآله وصحبه وسلم | Contemporaneous? type III (without flap) binding in brown leather. Five gold-stamped mandorlas, a frame of gold dot-punched circles, and blind-tooled edging. Endbands. Possibly a type II binding with the flap removed. | Ownership signature dated 1242 (fol. 4a).
