Notes Elegant copy of a treatise in verse on the ten readings of the Qurʼān. This copy contains an autograph ijazah by the author (fol. 105b; see mention at the end of the title, fol. 2a). | Ms. codex., Title from title page (fol. 2a)., Incipit: Muhammad said: He is Ibn al-Jazari, O Most Majestic, have mercy on him, cover him, and forgive. Praise be to God for what He has facilitated in publishing. Copied from the letters of the ten... And after, man is not honored except by what he memorizes and knows. Explicit: And let the face allow for it and praise with the prayers before and after. And here the system of goodness was completed [105a]. A happy and polite millennium in the Romans of Shaban in the middle of the year nine Seven hundred and ninety, and I have permitted it to every person who reads it. I have also permitted it to every person in my era. A narration stipulated by al-Mu’tabar and Muhammad ibn al-Jazari said, “May the Most Merciful have mercy on him by His grace, so he thought it was from His goodness to forgive,” 10 lines per page. Written in medium large naskh in black ink with use of red. Light cream paper with laid lines visible. Marginal annotations. Fol. 2 consists of two leaves pasted to one another. Short text on follo. 1a. Table of contents on fol. 1b. Table of abbreviations used in the text on fol. 2a. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: “Qirāʼāt 6”. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥāʼ 432"., Certification of reading written by the author, dated 826 H. on fol. 105b., Copy completed on 5 Ramaḍān 826 [Aug. 12, 1423] by Muḥammad al-Qārī al-Rūdāwarī (colophon, fol. 105b). | Dark brown leather over paper pasteboards for upper and lower covers, fore-edge flap and envelope flap.
