Air passenger transportation in Türkiye dates back to 1933, the year of establishment of Turkish Airlines (THY). THY, which has maintained its sustainability since 1933, both changes and develops over time with the effect of its transformation from the statist understanding that dominates the organizational field to the market understanding. While in the past it was a public institution that appealed to a limited number of passengers with the limited variety of services it offered, today it has become a public-private partnership airline business group that flies to the most destinations around the world and pays attention to customer satisfaction, with its developing service approach. The life story of Engineer Yusuf Bolayırlı, one of the witnesses of this transformation, who devoted himself to airline passenger transportation, combined his technical knowledge and experience with his curious side, took on different duties under the umbrella of THY from 1974 to 2003 and resigned from his duties as General Manager, is included in this part of the study.
